Diaoyutai (Fishing Pavilion) is once a royal retreat and one of the famous historic gardens in the western suburbs of Beijing.

This was the favourite fishing spot for Emperor Zhangzong (1168 AD-1208 AD) of the Jin Dynasty.

Once the residence for Chairman Mao, the guesthouse is now used to house visiting foreign dignitaries and provincial government officials. It is also opened for public.
